Sahag Hair Care Products

Some people have called John Sahag “Michelangelo with scissors” because he treated his craft with integrity and intensity. He sculpted precision shapes to frame your face, creating The Sahag Dry Cut. He treated each client like royalty and, when you walked away, your hair fell into place. His work was in fashion magazines around the world.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon and raised in Sydney, Australia, he began his work at the age of 16.  His talent was recognized in The Sydney Morning Herald. He was 19 when he moved to Paris where he was in constant demand.

His method of cutting hair involves cutting vertically, tapering the ends of the hair with shears, following the natural grains of the hair.

Air Lift, Spray Voluminizer from John Sahag [8.5 fl. oz.]

In 1985, he opened his own salon in New York City. In 1999, he presented his own line of hair care products. Unfortunately in 2005, at the age of 51, John Sahag died of cancer.

There are Sahag craftsmen who follow The Sahag Dry Cut Technique. Learn more about them at: http://johnsahag.com/

Here are several sites where you can purchase his products.

My favorite hairspray is Sahag hairspray.  I also recommend you buy your hairspray from Benzie Hair Care.  Gary, the owner is delightful and was very responsive to a problem I had with a can of spray.  He also has the best price!

Biotin for Hair Growth

Posted by Sherry Williams in Beauty-Hair on 08 23rd, 2011
I have been using 5 mg of Biotin for hair growth. I have noticed a difference in how fast my hair is growing.
Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin (vitamin B7). It was discovered by Bateman in 1916.
Biotin is necessary for cell growth, the production of fatty acids, and the metabolism of fats and amino acids. Biotin not only assists in various metabolic reactions, but also helps to transfer carbon dioxide. Biotin may also be helpful in maintaining a steady blood sugar level. Biotin is often recommended for strengthening hair and nails.
It is found in many cosmetics and health products for hair and skin, although it cannot be absorbed through the hair or skin itself.
Vitamin Shoppe Biotin 5 MG, 120.0 Each , Capsules
Symptoms of Biotin deficiency include: thinning of the hair (often with loss of hair color); and red scaly rash around the eyes, nose, and mouth. Other symptoms include depression, listlessness, hallucinations and tingling in the arms and legs. There is some evidence that cigarette smoking may cause mild biotin deficiency.
Foods containing Biotin are: tomatoes, romaine lettuce, carrots, almonds, eggs, oats and cucumbers.
In my opinion, you need to take 5mg of Biotin capsules daily (not tablets) to make your hair grow.
I recommend that you purchase Biotin in a health food store. I personally use Biotin from
Price will range around $17.00 to $20.00 from place to place.
